GEOLOGICAL:

Sodalite is a fairly rare material, known for its beautiful royal blue colour. It is named after its sodium content. Classed as a feldspathoid, Sodalite is a member of the ‘Sodalite’ group, along with Hauyne, Nosean, Lazurite and Tugtupite. Material is most commonly found as opaque massive, however crystals can form and are usually translucent.

In massive form, it is often seen with white streaks or patches running through the material, composed of Calcite. Sodalite can fluoresce bright orange under UV light.
