GEOLOGICAL:

Rhodonite is a rose pink to red manganese inosilicate. It was named in 1823 from the Greek ‘rhodon’ meaning ‘rose’. Its composition is variable, but usually contains significant amounts of iron, magnesium, and calcium.

It often occurs with black manganese oxides which appear as dendrites, fracture-fillings or in the matrix. Rhodonite is an uncommon mineral only found in a few small deposits across the world.
