GEOLOGICAL:

Smoky Quartz is a variety of Quartz that contains Aluminium and has been exposed to natural radiation in the earth, from radioactive rock around it. As the crystal is irradiated, the colour centers around the Aluminium in the Quartz are activated.

The material develops a smoky colour, variably ranging from a light smoky hue to almost opaque black (known as ‘Morion’ Smoky), and sometimes with orange to brown hues.
