Green Aventurine Crystal Tower 15cm.

Tall, dark green standing point. This material is from a unique, fairly new deposit with a banded colour distribution ranging from light to dark green, with occasional yellow to cream bands. A good amount of sparkle. Altogether quite strikingly beautiful! From Zimbabwe. Very Good to A Grade. Size approx 15cm. Weight approx 243g.

 

GEOLOGICAL:

Aventurine is a silicon dioxide mineral. It is a translucent Quartz crystal with inclusions of tiny flakes or specks of various minerals that give it a sparkly in the light. This sparkle is referred to as ‘aventurescence’. It was named in 1837 after the Italian word “a Ventura”, which means “by chance”.

Colour variances among the different inclusions are a result of the quantity, distribution and quality within the Quartz matrix. Green Aventurine is formed with tiny flakes of Fuchsite, a green Chromium-rich Mica.
