Beautiful dark green to grey Seraphinite polished piece. Lovely pearly chatoyancy. This feathery stone, named after the Seraphim angels, comes from only one place in the world – a single small iron skarn deposit in Siberia. From Korshunovskoye, Eastern Siberia, Russia. Very Good to A Grade. Size approx 2.5cm. Weight approx 4g.

 

GEOLOGICAL

Seraphinite is a variety of Clinochlore with a radiating structure that inspired its name. Feather-like acicular growths have a pearly chatoyancy that shimmers across the surface when turned in the light. It’s named after the biblical Seraphine, the highest order of angels in the Christian pantheon.

Dark green to grey in colour. Seraphinite is only sourced from one small area in the world. That of the Korshunovskoye iron skarn deposit in the Irkutskaya Oblast of Eastern Siberia.
