GEOLOGICAL:

Malachite is a green copper carbonate hydroxide mineral. It was one of the first ores used to produce copper metal and was cited as early as 79CE by Pliny the Elder, who referred to the mineral as ‘Molochitus’. In 1661 the spelling was revised to ‘Malachite’ as it is known today.
