Red Pyrope Garnet Gallet / Palm Stone. Amazing selection of gemmy pink to deep, dark red Garnet hand selected and polished into gallets / palm stones. White matrix in association on some pieces. Very hard material to polish and hasn’t been found locally in over 2 decades!

GEOLOGICAL:

Red Garnet is Pyrope Garnet, rich in Magnesium and Aluminum. The name “pyrope” was derived from the Greek “pyropes”, meaning “fiery-eyed”, in reference to its red colour.

The Garnet group contains different species who all share similar physical properties and forms, but are different chemically. The members include Pyrope, Almandine, Spessartine, Grossular, Uvarovite and Andradite.
