GEOLOGICAL:

Rhodonite is a rose pink to red manganese isosilicate. It was named in 1823 from the Greek ‘rhodon’ meaning ‘rose’. It’s composition is variable, but usually contains significant amounts of iron, magnesium, and calcium. It often occurs with black manganese oxides which occur as dendrites, fracture-fillings or in the matrix. Rhodonite is an uncommon mineral only found in a few small deposits across the world.
