GEOLOGICAL

Kutnohorite, a member of the Dolomite group, is a rare calcium manganese carbonate mineral. It can be white to pastel pink, or light to medium brown in colour, depending on the levels of manganese and iron.

Kutnohorite specimens often display radiating acicular-to-bladed bundles. It can also be found in rhombs, spherical, granular and massive forms. Its name stems from the place of its discovery in 1901, Kutná Hora, Bohemia in the Czech Republic.
