Salrose Crystalline Specimen Small. Lovely selected small specimens. Some minor inclusions of Malachite and copper based minerals, with a few instances of pretty dendritic patterning on the matrix. A classic collectable. Salrose is graded for colour intensity, extent of crystalline exposure and size of individual crystals.

While Salrose is also known as Pink Calcite or Cobalt/Cobaltoan Calcite, it is in fact a pink Dolomite! It is correctly termed Cobaltoan Dolomite.
GEOLOGICAL
Cobaltoan Dolomite, also known as Salrose, is a rare variant of Dolomite containing Cobalt. Only 5 countries in the world have Salrose deposits. Dolomite is an anhydrous (waterless) carbonate mineral, being composed of calcium magnesium carbonate. Cobaltoan dolomite gets its vivid pink shades from cobalt ions replacing magnesium and/or calcium within the crystal lattice.
