Description

Chiredzi Smoky Amethyst Double Terminated Point. Fab unusual Smoky Amethyst Chiredzi crystal, with two double terminated / multi terminated points crossing each other. One is a reverse laser, swelling at the point like a sceptre without the usual separation/overgrowth. Both have pock marks/indentations lined with what might be Orthoclase. Very interesting bands of black and purple variously appearing throughout the material. Very unique and cool!

From Chiredzi, Zimbabwe. Very Good to A Grade. Size approx 5.5cm. Weight approx 70g.

 

GEOLOGICAL INFO

Chiredzi crystals are named after the town of Chiredzi where they were first discovered in 2017. Also known as Shangaan crystals. Chiredzi crystals are complex Quartz crystals, which look very much like Brandbergs.

Common characteristics include:

• Hematite specular or needle like inclusions are often seen.
