Amazonite Gallet / Palm Stone

Variable colour, mostly light green/blue to white, with some brown staining. Each gallet is chosen from selected material and hand polished into its shape. From Madagascar. Low to Medium Grade. Choose your weight below.

Amazonite is part of the Feldspar group, usually a microcline, else orthoclase variety. It is a green to blue-green tectosilicate mineral that usually derives its colour from the inclusion of lead. Also known as Amazon Jade or Amazon Stone, Amazonite was named after the Amazon river. Cultures in Northern Africa, Mesopotamia, and the Indus Valley had begun cutting Amazonite as early as 5,200BCE.
