Once upon a time, in a land far away, there lived a group of kitties who were very unhappy. They were slaves to the humans, catching mice and rats by day and sleeping in a cold drafty barn at night.  These kitties wanted freedom.

They wanted to be able to sleep in a warm house by a cozy fire. They wanted to be appreciated and loved. So they decided to travel to a far distant land where other kitties had gone and sent back word about how wonderful it was.  There was plenty of food to eat and most humans cared for their animal friends.

So these brave slave kitties in the dark of night met at the dock where a great ship was ready to shove off to this unknown land. The slave kitties crept onto the huge ship, banded together, and found a warm place to sleep down in the bottom of the ship.  Some humans happened to notice them and helped them through the journey. The kitties were fed and loved and petted.  In return, the slave kitties kept the bottom of the ship free of mice and rats.
